This Friday at the FM Issue 07 Launch Party, Olivia Plyler (FM Fashion Editor) will premiere the new fashion of ‘Pioneer.’ The styles play with Colorado’s western aesthetic and draw on contemporary looks to create an authentic and rustic feel. The show will be accompanied by the music of Cada Dia. Here is a preview.

FM is throwing its next launch party in LoDo. Yeah, we think that’s pretty funny, too.

Bad Weather California will be playing some high-spirited jams along with Olivia Plyler’s Pioneer Fashion Show featuring the tunes of Cada Dia.  DJ’s El Brian, Deftron, and Ear Attent will be spinning records and pushing computer buttons, and Scot Lefavor will be presenting a paint-by-number mural.  Blair Pescal will be debuting her newest collection of photos, and Matt Scobey will be creating a surreal atmosphere…or something.

Booze will be flowing from Great Divide Brewery and 42 Below Vodka.

Did we mention the new special edition FM Issue #7 will be premiering? It will.

Free to attend. Get there around 9 pm.

Let’s Get Weird.

Chris Adolf and his band Bad Weather California are one of the most original and creative groups to come out of Denver. They play beautifully crafted tunes, write amazing lyrics, and are totally fucking weird.  Oh yeah, these guys will be playing at the FM07 launch party next month. Expect the audience to respond like the people in this little music video. Cheers.

The Biggie Awards

Biggie AwardsThe next issue of FM Magazine will pay homage to the late rapper Notorious BIG with the debut of the Biggie Awards. The awards spotlight the creative points of Denver’s art  community and offer a round of applause and head nod to people and places that often get overlooked in the crowd.

To celebrate the occasion, FM is calling on all artists to submit a piece of art illustrating Biggie Smalls. The contest is free to enter, and artists can submit as many pieces as they’d like. The winner will receive a $100 gift card to Mieninger Art Supply, and their art will grace the cover of the next FM Magazine. Runner-ups will be able to display and sell any prints of their art at the magazine launch party in November.
